Mercure Hotel Lisieux
This modern 3 star hotel is located on the outskirts of the charming town of Lisieux, within easy reach of a host of attractions. Each of the 70 bedrooms is decorated in a modern, cosy style with facilities including TV, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities. The good sized, open plan restaurant and informal bar are located on the ground floor, with both having a pleasant ambience overlooking the outdoor swimming pool.
Day 1
An early morning departure we travel to Dover for our ferry crossing to Calais. We then continue our journey to the Mercure Hotel Lisieux.
DDay 2
This morning we visit the Fromagerie Graindorge for an audio guided tour of the cheese factory. The tour is followed by a tasting of four of the delicious cheeses. We then travel to the beautiful themed Jardins du Pays d’Auge, which cover 4 acres set around picturesque half-timbered farm buildings dating back to the 16th century. In the afternoon we visit Château Du Breuil Calvados distillery for a guided tour.
B, DDay 3
Today we travel to the charming port town of Honfleur, located on the beautiful Côte Fleurie. Honfleur is famous for its seafood, so our day at leisure is the perfect opportunity to sample some freshly caught fish at one of the many restaurants.
B, DDay 4
This morning we visit the 18th century Château de Vendeuvre, one of the most beautiful castles in Normandy. Following our guided tour of the château and gardens, we enjoy a traditional 4-course Normandy lunch with a glass of wine overlooking the gardens. In the afternoon we return to Lisieux where we can explore this beautiful town of pilgrimage at our leisure.
B, DDay 5
After breakfast at the hotel we begin the return journey home.
