Bedford OWB (1944) 29 Seater - Registration: GAL 967

Johnson Bros Tours operated this vehicle in the 60's. In 2002 it was discovered in Scotland at a breakers yard. Undertaking a full restoration over a period of 3 and a half years.

 

Bedford Val (1963) 52 Seater - Registration: 5188 RU

Purchased as just a shell in 2002 this extremely rare vehicle was fully restored over a 2 year period and was the start of our award winning vintage collection. This vehicle featured in the 2009 British film "The Damned United".

 

Volvo Plaxton (1981) 53 Seater - Registration: LHE 601W

Built by Plaxtons of Scarborough this vehicle was delivered new to Johnson Bros Tours in 1981, it worked our UK and Continental tours until the early 90's and travelled over 1 million miles before undertaking full restoration in 2003 making its appearance at the 100 years of Plaxtons vehicle event.

The driver was excellent,  calling prior to the time he was due to say that he was already in Bakewell and would be at the rendezvous in plenty of time. His timing, courtesy and pleasant manner was a joy to behold. The day was hot and when he opened the roof it was magical.
