Tenby & The Pembrokeshire Coast

Day 1

We travel into Wales and head to Tenby for a 5 night stay at the wonderful Giltar hotel. Dinner in the hotel.

A day to explore Tenby. Dinner in the hotel.

Day 3

Today, we enjoy a full-day excursion to St. David's, a charming and historic city nestled in the heart of Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and the smallest city in Britain thanks to its stunning 12th-century cathedral. Our scenic journey follows the coast road, locally known as "17 Hills in 16 Miles", offering breathtaking views of the Welsh coastline. Along the way, we pass Newgale's vast pebble beach and the picturesque harbour village of Solva. There's time to explore the city's narrow, vibrant streets, enjoy lunch at a local café or pub. Dinner at the hotel tonight.

Day 4

After breakfast we are off to Carmarthen, the oldest town in Wales, beautifully situated on the banks of the River Tywi. With a rich history spanning over 800 years, Market Day here is a tradition not to be missed. Whether you're hunting for a bargain or simply soaking up the atmosphere, there's something for everyone. Carmarthen proudly showcases its Roman roots and Arthurian legends-some say the great wizard Merlin was born here. The castle ruins, with their dramatic history of sieges and rebuilds , overlook a town steeped in myth and heritage. On our return to Tenby we call at the picturesque seaside village of Saundersfoot, where you can enjoy a leisurely stroll along
the harbour, savour coastal views, or relax at one of the local cafés, dinner in the hotel.

Day 5

Morning visit to the charming and colourful town of Pembroke, a historic gem with its main street leading directly from the castle gates. Wander the quaint streets lined with independent shops and cosy cafés, perfect for browsing or relaxing with a coffee. Final afternoon at leisure in Tenby.

Day 6

Return journey home.
