The Crown Spa
Prominently situated overlooking South Bay, with open views of the sea , beach, castle and harbour, yet only a 10 minute walk to the town centre, this 4 star hotel is without doubt one of the principle hotels in Scarborough. All the bright 116 en-suite rooms have refreshment trays, flat-screen TVs and free Wi-Fi. Leisure facilities include an indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and gym. Lift.
Day 1
A morning departure as we travel north to Malton, often referred to as "Yorkshire's Food Capital" due to its abundance of independent food shops and award-winning artisan producers. Time at leisure for lunch before continuing on to Scarborough and our hotel the Crown Spa, dinner in the hotel.
Day 2
After breakfast enjoy a scenic coastal drive to Whitby, no visit here is complete without sampling a traditional fish and chip lunch and we include one at a local restaurant. In the afternoon we join the North Yorkshire Moors Railway service taking us over the scenic North Yorkshire Moors through to Goathland, famous as the Village of Aidensfield in the hit TV series Heartbeat. Following some free time in Goathland we rejoin our coach and return to Scarborough. Dinner at the hotel.
B, DDay 3
After a leisurely breakfast we have the day in Scarborough, "Queen of the Yorkshire Coast", enjoy the spa facilities at the hotel or stroll the delightful promenade. An afternoon tea is served in the hotel. Dinner at the Crown Spa.
B, DDay 4
Today we head inland, after time for coffee in the picturesque town of Helmsley, we continue via Sutton Bank with extensive view of the Vale of York to Thirsk, time at leisure for lunch in Thirsk, this old fashioned Yorkshire Market town is famous as Darrowby from the James Herriot "All Creatures Great and Small" books. We return to Scarborough for a final dinner at the Crown Spa Hotel.
Day 5
We leave our hosts at the Crown Spa hotel and travel south to Bridlington, see the picturesque harbour side or stroll through the charming narrow streets of the historic Old Town with local galleries, antique shops and cafes , time for lunch before we return home.
