Wye Valley & the Royal Forest of Dean
On this tour we discover the delights of England's glorious Wye Valley. We ride the heritage Dean Forest Railway, stroll the enchanting ruins of Tintern Abbey and Chepstow Castle and visit the Brecon Beacons. A cruise along the River Wye from Symonds Yat is a perfect finishing touch.

Bells Hotel & Country Club, Coleford
Situated within the unspoilt Royal Forest of Dean in the historic market town of Coleford, the hotel has 53 en suite rooms with TV, hairdryer and hospitality tray. No lift but ground floor rooms are available. The hotel is located across two buildings, with reception, bedrooms and beauty suite in one, and the bar, restaurant and terrace in the other. The hotel also boasts a county standard bowling green as well as an 18 hole golf course.
Day 1
A morning departure as we travel south to Coleford and our hotel the Bells Hotel & Country Club. Dinner in the hotel.
DDay 2
Today begins with a visit to Chepstow Castle. After exploring the historic market town of Chepstow, we travel to Norchard and the Dean Forest Railway. We have time to visit the museum and be shown around its locomotive restoration shed before a return journey on a steam or heritage diesel train, through the medieval Forest of Dean. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 3
Our first visit this morning is to Tintern, dominated by the spectacular remains of Tintern Abbey, time to explore the Abbey's remains before visiting the craft and antique shops. We then cross the border into Wales to the Georgian market town of Monmouth, famous for its unique 13th century Monnow Bridge. We round off our day with a cruise along the river Wye at Symmonds Yat . Dinner and entertainment at the hotel.
Day 4
This morning we head to the Brecon Beacons and some wonderful mountain scenery. Our first visit is to Abergavenny, famous for its annual food festival, take time to visit the busy market selling all kinds of goods, from local produce to finely crafted works of art. We then pass Pen y Fan the highest peak in South Wales on our way to Brecon with its narrow streets and passageways lined with Georgian and Jacobian shop fronts. Dinner in the hotel followed by entertainment.
B, DDay 5
We leave our hosts at the Bells hotel and for the return journey home.
