The Shakespeare Express & Stratford upon Avon

Day 1

A morning departure as we head south to Warwick, famous for its magnificent castle, superb specialist and independent shops, historic charm and a fantastic range of places to eat & drink. We leave late afternoon for the short journey to Stratford and our hotel the Crowne Plaza, dinner in the hotel.

Day 2

We begin our day with a relaxing 45-minute river cruise with an engaging guide who will bring Shakespeare's Stratford to life. After disembarking, we have time for a stroll of our own and lunch, before getting a bit more involved in the town's history as we head to Shakespeare's Birthplace. A fascinating visit, here we can walk in the playwright's famous footsteps, exploring his childhood home at our own pace, hearing tales of his family life and seeing objects from the Trust's world class collection. Dinner in the hotel.

Day 3

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast in the hotel before the highlight of our weekend, a return journey on the Shakespeare Express with lunch onboard. Travelling from Stratford-upon-Avon to Birmingham and back again along the scenic Shakespeare Line, we settle into our stylish pullman carriage seats and enjoy the views as the Heritage steam train travels at main line speeds. A sumptuous three-course Sunday lunch is served at your table, with tea and coffee included afterwards. Dinner at the hotel tonight

Day 4

We have a final morning at leisure in Stratford upon Avon to explore the town and have lunch before our return journey home.
