Winnock Hotel Drymen
The Winnock Hotel dates back to the 1700’s and was formerly a coaching inn , situated on the pretty village green in the conservation village of Drymen, this beautiful, family run 3-star hotel offers an outstanding level of customer service, cosy log fires and excellent Scottish cuisine. All the en suite rooms feature satellite TV and hospitality tray. Please note the Winnock does not offer a lift however bedrooms are all on the ground or first floor.
Day 1
A morning departure for the journey north to Drymen and the Winnock Hotel. A warm welcome is assured at this popular hotel. Dinner in the hotel .
DDay 2
Today we have a full day tour of the beautiful Trossachs, a delightful area of lochs and mountains. We stop at the popular little town of Aberfoyle, then continue on to Loch Katrine where we enjoy a 2 hour cruise on the Sir Walter Scott steamship. Dinner and entertainment at the hotel.
Day 3
This morning, we visit the Falkirk Wheel for a journey on the world's first and only rotating boat lift, an incredible feat of engineering and a famous Scottish landmark. It was designed and built to connect the Forth & Clyde Canal and the Union Canal which allows coast to coast navigation across central Scotland. In the afternoon we have a journey on the Bo'ness & Kinneil steam railway with a delicious afternoon tea on board. Dinner at the hotel
B, DDay 4
After breakfast we travel to Dunbarton and join the Scotrail train for a journey to Oban, one of Scotlands most scenic rail routes. Free time to explore Oban and obtain lunch before returning to the hotel by coach. Dinner at the Winnock
BDay 5
Following breakfast today we visit beautiful Loch Lomond, time for a lake cruise before stopping at Loch Lomond Shores, Scotland's most spectacular visitor destination overlooking the majesty of the Loch at Balloch. Final Dinner tonight is followed by traditional Scottish entertainment.
B, DDay 6
We leave our hosts at the Winnock for the journey home, arriving back early evening.
