The Feathers Hotel
The Feathers Hotel is centrally located in the medieval town of Ludlow. Originally built in 1619 this half-timbered grade 1 listed building has recently undergone refurbishment to offer a contemporary style within an historic property. Day 1
A morning departure as we head south to the historic city of Worcester, time at leisure for luch before we continue onto Ludlow, arriving late afternoon at the Feathers Hotel our base for the next 4 nights . Dinner in the hotel.
DDay 2
This morning we journey north to Shrewsbury. The town is packed with timber- framed black and white buildings among narrow alleyways surrounded by the River Severn. We head to the riverside to enjoy a delightful cruise on the River Severn. Afterwards, enjoy free time to explore the town at your leisure. Dinner on our return to Ludlow.
B, DDay 3
A day at leisure to discover medieval history, charming streets, independent shops and delicious local flavours in one of England's most beautiful historic towns. Explore the impressive ruins of Ludlow Castle, admire the magnificent St Laurence's Church, and wander through streets lined with over 500 listed buildings spanning Medieval, Tudor and Georgian architecture. Dinner in the hotel.
B, DDay 4
This morning, we head to Kidderminster for a trip on the famous Severn Valley Railway to Bridgnorth, following the course of the River Severn much of the scenery can only be viewed from the railway line, a highlight of the trip is crossing the Victoria Bridge , a 200 foot single span bridge which featured in the famous film 'The Thirty- Nine Steps'. Upon arrival at Bridgnorth, we have time at leisure for lunch, The high town and Low town are joined by the Cliff Railway which climbs 111 feet up the sheer cliff face which literally splits Bridgnorth into two. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 5
After breakfast, we depart the hotel and begin our journey home, stopping off en route in Lichfield,a charming, historic city ,famous for the UK's only medieval three- spired cathedral.
