Join us in Harrogate for a fantastic 'Big Band Night' with music and dancing from the Todd Miller and Joe Loss Orchestra, the longest running orchestra in Britain celebrating 95 years of live entertainment playing big band swing, 50s rock and roll, 60s pop, 70s classics through to 80s modern romance.
The Old Swan Hotel
The Old Swan Hotel stands in the centre of the lovely town of Harrogate and is famed as being Agatha Christie’s hiding place during her disappearance in 1926. Bedrooms are stylishly furnished and the public areas include the Library restaurant, the Wedgwood Room and the lounge bar. All bedrooms are ensuite and have satellite television telephone, hairdryer and tea & coffee facilities. Lift.
Day 1
A morning departure as we travel north , time for lunch in the medieval market town of Knaresborough, perched above the River Nidd. We then only have a short journey into Harrogate and our Hotel the Old Swan. Dinner in the hotel.
Day 2
Today is free for you to explore the pretty town of Harrogate. Enjoy a lovely stroll through the beautiful Valley Gardens, explore the independent shops of the Montpellier Quarter or visit the delightful Victorian Westminster Arcade for some retail therapy. Have a relaxing lunch in one of the many restaurants, cafes and bars or perhaps take a break in the famous Betty’s Tearooms. Later, we will return to the hotel to get ready for our evening of entertainment. This begins with a pre-dinner drink, followed by our Gala Dinner. Tonight’s extravaganza is the highlight of the weekend - an evening with the legendary Joe Loss Orchestra, now led by Todd Miller. The band has been in constant operation throughout the world since 1930 - performing live alongside some of Britain’s best musicians and singers. This evening the big band and singers will perform hits from the 50s to the 80s for you to enjoy
Day 3
After a leisurely breakfast, we depart the hotel and head home with fond memories, we have free time for lunch in York, arriving home early evening.
