Fine Wine, Timeless Heritage & The Thames

Day 1

A morning departure as we travel south into Hampshire and a 4 night stay at the impressive Elvetham hotel. Dinner in the Hotel.

Day 2

Today we travel through the rolling Surrey countryside to the county town of Guildford with its magnificent cathedral and cobbled high street. There is time to explore the individual shops and obtain lunch.This afternoon, we visit Denbies Wine Estate where we enjoy a 50-minute Vineyard tour by train. Commentary is provided on board, accompanied by a glass of Denbies Sparkling Wine. Dinner in the hotel

Day 3

This morning, we travel West to Chawton House famously known as the residence of Jane Austen. Explore the house where you can see original examples of Austen’s writing, and the original family dining room, and relax in the tranquil gardens. This afternoon we visit the historic city of Winchester. You have the chance to visit the cathedral, browse the high street or perhaps visit one of the city’s museums. Dinner in the hotel.

Day 4

Following breakfast we head through some of the beautiful Berkshire countryside to Henley-on-Thames - famous for its annual regatta. We have a short time to explore the town before we board our boat for our 1-hour river cruise along the Thames. We spend our final afternoon in Royal Windsor where you could enjoy lunch, visit the famous Windsor Castle, or wander around the quaint streets and explore the many independent stores. Dinner in the hotel.

Day 5

We leave our hosts at the Elvetham hotel after breakfast for the journey home.
