Nestled in Chard, Somerset, this elegant Regency mansion is surrounded by 160 acres of lush walled gardens, woodland, lakes, and even its own church. A truly peaceful countryside escape, this historic house doubled as Grantleigh Manor in the classic British sitcom To the Manor Born. Guests can enjoy leisurely or active pursuits like archery, croquet, bowls, rifle shooting, gin tasting, and even guided tours of the estate. Every evening enjoy live theatre, tribute acts, music performances and comedy.
Cricket St Thomas
This elegant mansion is set within 160 acres of glorious landscaped gardens and parkland with mature cedars, maples and yews. All the spacious guest rooms are en suite with TV, hairdryer complimentary Wi-Fi and tea and coffee-making facilities. Live nightly entertainment in the Pavilion Cabaret Room, heated indoor pool and leisure centre.
Day 1
We leave in the morning and travel south to Chard and the 4 star Cricket St Thomas Warner Grade II listed mansion. After checking in to our rooms, time at leisure before dinner which is followed by tonight’s fabulous entertainment.
Day 2
Spend the day at leisure within 160 acres of lakes and gardens around Cricket St Thomas or join our included excursion calling first at Seaton, a seaside town facing Lyme Bay, before continuing via Beer, once a smugglers haven to the Victorian resort of Sidmouth. We return to Cricket St Thomas late afternoon. Dinner and entertainment in the hotel.
Day 3
Free day - why not take part in one of the many activities available within the hotel or grounds, alternatively become an expert in the gentle art of relaxation. Dinner tonight is again followed by an evening of live entertainment.
Day 4
An option again today of spending the day around the hotel or taking part in our excursion visiting Dorchester, the historic market town associated with Thomas Hardy and returning to Cricket St Thomas via Lyme Regis. Final dinner in the hotel and an evening of live entertainment.
Day 5
We leave our hosts at the Warner Cricket St Thomas Hotel and make our return journey home.
