Bon Alpina Hotel, Igls
This charming 3 star chalet-style hotel is located in the village of Igls close to Innsbruck. Each of the 95 modern bedrooms is equipped with a TV and hairdryer. Large Tyrolean style restaurant while the traditional bar area is perfect for a pre or post dinner drink. The hotel also provides an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, sauna and fitness area. Lift
Day 1
An early hours departure as we travel south to Dover and a morning ferry crossing to Calais, before heading south via Reims and Metz to our overnight hotel the Sunday at Saarbrucken. Time to relax before our evening meal in the hotel.
Day 2
After breakfast in the hotel our journey continues south via Munich and into Austria for a 5 night stay at the Bon Alpina hotel ,Igls. Dinner in the hotel.
B, DDay 3
Today we visit the Tyrolean capital city of Innsbruck, surrounded by the jagged rock spires of the Nordkette mountain range. We enjoy free time here to discover some of the most important sights, including the Hofgarten, the ornate 15th century Golden Roof designed as a royal box for the Emperor, the Column of Saint Anne and the Triumphal Arch. In the afternoon, we board the Nordkettenbahn to ascend to the summit of the Nordkette mountain range to enjoy the views while sipping a unique Cloud 9 cocktail. Dinner in the hotel
Day 4
Day at leisure enjoy a hot lunch in the hotel and complimentary tea/coffee , soft drinks, beer and wine between 10.00 and 21.00 Dinner in the hotel.
Day 5
This morning we embark on the Achenseebahn, Europe's oldest cog railway, which is still steam operated. Puffing through the steeper sections, it rises to a 16% gradient from Jenbach to Seespitz. From here we re-join our coach for the short journey to the resort town of Pertisau. We enjoy time at leisure before a cruise on lovely Lake Achen. Dinner in the hotel
Day 6
Today we travel to the town of Oberammergau, home to the unique passion play. After enjoying free time here, we move on to the beautiful nearby Ettal Abbey for a visit before travelling to the Bavarian town of Garmisch- Partenkirchen, where we enjoy some time at leisure. Dinner at the hotel.
B, DDay 7
We leave our hosts at the Bon Alpina and make our way back to Saarbrucken and an overnight stay at the Sunday hotel. Dinner in the hotel.
Day 8
We leave after breakfast and head direct to Calais and an early afternoon sailing to Dover. From Dover we are homeward bound.
