The Hotel Rex

Day 1
A morning departure for our journey to the south coast and Weymouth, our base for 7 nights is the seafront Hotel Rex, Dinner in the hotel.
Day 2
This morning we visit the gateway of the Jurassic Coast, West Bay, with its sandstone cliffs and the iconic Golden Cap, West Bay is a coastal gem that many will recognise from ITV’s Broadchurch, capture the views, walk along the shore, and relive the scenes from the hit series. This afternoon, we visit the vibrant market town of Bridport, home to over 1,000 listed buildings, many tied to its rope-making heritage, Bridport’s lively streets are lined with independent galleries, bookshops, antique stores, cafes, and boutique shops. Dinner at the Hotel Rex tonight.
Day 3
A day at leisure to explore Weymouth. Dinner in the hotel.
B, DDay 4
Today we enjoy a coastal drive to Sidmouth, this lovely seaside town nestles beneath majestic red cliffs and the green hills of the glorious Sid Valley, enjoy beautiful gardens, regency history, and friendly shops. We then return to Weymouth where you can relax before our dinner this evening.
Day 5
This morning, we visit Athelhampton House and Gardens, one of the finest examples of a Tudor manor house in England. The remarkable 15th-century property features over 20 rooms open to the public, including the glorious Great Hall. Surrounding the house are award-winning Elizabethan gardens, step back in time as you explore this beautifully preserved historic estate and its stunning grounds. We return to Weymouth mid afternoon. Dinner in the hotel.
B, DDay 6
After breakfast we visit Dorchester, an historic market town with roots dating back to Roman times and close associations with the author Thomas Hardy. Time to explore at leisure and have lunch. In the afternoon we travel to Swanage a charming Victorian seaside town nestled in the heart of the Jurassic Coast, offering stunning views. Dinner at the hotel.

A final day at leisure to explore Weymouth. Dinner in the hotel.

We leave our hosts at the hotel Rex for the return journey home.
