Germany - The Marvellous Moselle & Rhine

Day 1

A mid morning departure as we travel to Beverley, a traditional town with a 13th century minster bustling marketplace, boutique shops and historic pubs, time at leisure for lunch before we head to Hull and the overnight sailing with P & O ferries to Rotterdam. A 2 berth lower bed en suite cabin is included along with a 3 course dinner on board. Enjoy the evening entertainment as we sail across the North Sea.

Day 2

Arriving in Holland refreshed after a good nights sleep and a full english breakfast on board, we Leave Rotterdam and travel through Holland for a lunch break in Valkenburg, time to enjoy the castle, catacombs and cafés, or perhaps a visit to the historic museum, we continue on to Boppard and our hotel the 4 star Bellevue, situated on the banks of the Rhine. Enjoy a welcome glass of wine before dinner in the hotel.

Day 3

This morning, we head to the Moselle Valley and the pretty riverside town of Cochem, from where we embark on a circular cruise along the Moselle River, enjoying views of Reichsburg Castle and the surrounding vineyards. After our cruise, we spend the rest of the day in Cochem at leisure, giving us time to explore the old town, made up of quaint squares, winding alleys and half-timbered buildings. Dinner in the hotel.

Day 4

A day to explore the Roman town of Boppard, with its excellent promenade and panoramic views of the river, sit in one of the many cafes and enjoy lunch before an included afternoon panoramic cruise along the Rhine with an interesting commentary about the towns, vineyards and hilltop fortresses. Dinner in the hotel.

Day 5

Today we travel to Brohl for a one-way journey on the Vulkan Express, a unique narrow gauge railway. The line meanders up through the Brohl Valley into the Eifel Hills. We spend the afternoon in the historic old town of Koblenz, situated where the Rhine and Moselle rivers meet., Final dinner at the Bellevue hotel.

Day 6

We leave our hosts at the Bellevue hotel and head north stopping off for lunch in Cologne, famous for its outstanding cathedral, Cologne also possesses an excellent riverside promenade, sample a glass of beer from one of the many cafés along the riverbank. We continue north to Rotterdam and the overnight sailing to Hull, 2 berth lower bed cabin and dinner include.

Day 7

DAY 7 After breakfast on board, we return home.
