Gates Garden Centre & Melton Mowbray
Rutland Water is a large, horseshoe-shaped reservoir set within three thousand acres of beautiful countryside in the east midlands region of England. Anglian Water owns and administers the reservoir, and around its twenty-five mile perimeter there are four leisure areas. Three are on the north shore at Barnsdale, Whitwell and Sykes Lane.
Gates Garden Centre has been in the same family for more than half a century. Since then it has become an unmissable attraction in Leicestershire – one that is loved by visitors of all ages. Located just 4 miles from Oakham we offer a huge range of plants and garden products across over 10,500 square metres of indoor and outdoor display areas. You’ll find everything from garden tools and pots to patio furniture, water features, clothing, homeware and pet care – there’s something for everyone.
Children love the indoor and outdoor play areas while adults enjoy a delicious meal in the Garden Restaurant. You can shop for your summer BBQ, pick up Christmas gifts from our winter range or choose something for your garden in every season.
Melton Mowbray is famously known as the "Rural Capital of Food" and is renowned for its pork pies and Stilton cheese. The town also boasts a rich history, including its association with English royalty.
