Burn Hall Hotel
Set in 8 acres of parkland, to the north of York, the Burn Hall Hotel Huby is renowned for its warm Yorkshire welcome, 94 Comfortable en-suite bedrooms all with TV, hairdryer and hospitality tray. The popular restaurant serves modern British cuisine using the finest local produce. Lift.
Day 1
A morning departure as we travel north to Harrogate as well as the many shops and cafes to visit, Harrogate also boasts the world-famous Betty’s tearooms, founded in 1919 by a Swiss confectioner, and just around the corner from Betty’s is Farrar’s of Harrogate, established in 1840 and best known for its Original Harrogate Toffee, the favourite sweetie of the late Queen Mother. Time at leisure for lunch. We then only have a short journey to our hotel the Burn Hall. Dinner in the hotel.
Day 2
This morning we head via Ripon to the Black Sheep Brewery at Masham, learn how the brewery started, visit the Brewhouse and sample their range of delicious beers that make them one of Yorkshire’s finest. We continue our journey into the Yorkshire Dales and a visit to the Wensleydale Creamery at Hawes, with a fascinating insight into the thousand-year history of cheese making in the Dales, with the opportunity to watch Yorkshire Wensleydale cheese being crafted. We complete our journey back to the Burn Hall Hotel via Settle and Skipton. Dinner in the hotel.
Day 3
After breakfast we make our way into York, the city has had a long standing tradition of Chocolate making including Rowntrees and Terrys and this morning we visit the York Chocolate House, learn how York became home to some of the most famous names in confectionary and have a go at making the sweet stuff yourself before the all important taste test. We have some time at leisure for sightseeing and lunch before enjoying a Yorkshire afternoon tea at a city centre hotel. Dinner in the hotel tonight.
Day 4
After breakfast we head to Pickering, here we join the North Yorkshire Moors Railway , sit back and enjoy the views as we head to Whitby, no visit to Whitby is complete without trying the local fish and chips and we include a fish and chip lunch at a local restaurant. Afternoon free to explore this popular seaside resort dominated by the ruined gothic Whitby Abbey. Final dinner at the hotel.
Day 5
We leave our hosts at the Burn Hall Hotel for the return journey home.
