This historical yet vibrant district has plenty to offer its visitors on our coach break – being famous for its horticulture, grand buildings and graceful scenery with natural springs. Consisting of a Cathedral City, a World Heritage site, a Spa Town and spectacular natural beauty – a real gem is there to be discovered in the North of Yorkshire. Harrogate and District has been voted the happiest place to live in the country for the past three years running, hosting something for everyone with a wide range of attractions and events from enjoying afternoon tea at the renowned Betty’s Tea Room to the famous Harrogate Flower Show and the popular Great Yorkshire Show.
DoubleTree by Hilton Harrogate Majestic Hotel & Spa
Built in 1889, this hotel sits on eight acres of landscaped gardens in the heart of Harrogate. Royal Hall and Harrogate Convention Centre are a five-minute walk away, and we're half a mile from Betty's Café. Our spa features six beauty treatment rooms, a steam room, sauna, and indoor pool.
Day 1
A morning departure we travel to Harrogate. We explore delightful Harrogate, with its magnificent buildings, colourful banks of flowers, broad tree-lined boulevards and diverse range of shops. Attractions include the Royal Pump Rooms Museum, the Mercer Art Gallery and of course, famous Betty’s Tea Room. We check in to the Crowne Plaza hotel with free time to relax before your 3 course evening meal.
Day 2
After breakfast at the hotel free time in Harrogate. Its thriving streets buzz with busy shops! At 15:00hrs we return back to the hotel for a traditional afternoon tea, which consists of a selection of dainty sandwiches (including of course thinly sliced cucumber sandwiches), scones served with clotted cream and preserves. Cakes and pastries are also served. Our coach will begin the return journey home at 17:00hrs.
